PCP Grievance Committee Reviews Complaints; Strict Action to be Taken Against Over-Enrollment | Islamabad | 02 November 2026

The Grievance Committee of the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP) held its third meeting today at 4:00 PM, with the participation of all members of the Committee.

The Committee undertook a detailed review of complaints received by the Council, including complaints concerning pharmacy institutions, students, faculty members, and other general regulatory and academic matters. Each complaint was deliberated upon individually, and appropriate decisions were taken accordingly.

It was decided that complaints relating to respective institutions shall be forwarded to the concerned institutions for redressal, along with directions to submit their written responses and compliance reports to the Council within the prescribed timeframe. The responses will be reviewed by the Committee and further action will be taken, where necessary, in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework.

Strict Action Against Over-Enrollment

The Committee also took serious notice of institutions admitting students beyond their approved/allocated intake. It was decided that a strict regulatory circular will be issued to all concerned institutions, clearly directing them to adhere to their approved seat allocations.

The Council has made it clear that admission of even a single student beyond the approved intake will constitute a serious regulatory violation and may result in strict action against the institution under the applicable rules and regulations.

The Committee observed that over-enrollment can have serious consequences for students by creating uncertainty regarding their academic status, accreditation and future professional prospects. Institutions must, therefore, ensure that admissions remain strictly within the intake approved by the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan.

The Pharmacy Council of Pakistan will continue to process grievances through its established mechanism and take appropriate regulatory measures to ensure compliance with the standards governing pharmacy education.
